Coming Home

We came home on Sunday, July 4. It was nice to finally be home with our little family. We didn't have any major 4th of July parties, but we did do some fireworks. Nathan had some sweet fireworks and we watched them (from far away) and just had fun being together.

Brothers

One of the sweetest parts of having Corey in our lives has been to see the interaction between Tate and Corey. Tate has been so sweet with him and loves to touch him, hold him, kiss him and hold him. He is constantly saying how funny Corey is or how cute he is. Corey also recognizes Tate's voice and turns towards him when he hears him. I can already tell that they are going to have a special bond and be good friends. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen and makes me tear up every time I see them together. I love my boys!!
We had the boys exchange presents (well, Tate held the present in front of Corey). Tate gave Corey a glow worm that he picked out at the store and Corey gave Tate a little guitar (which he has already broken). That helped Tate realize that Corey was an ok guy to have around. :)

Our Cute Boy

I have so many photos to post, but things have been a little busy the past few days. I have no idea why. :) I will try to get them all up over the next day or two (along with the videos). But, we came home on Sunday afternoon and were able to take our little boy home with us! He actually went home the same day as the other babies born on July 1 via c-section. The doctor said that he was one of the biggest, if not the biggest, baby they had ever had in the NICU. He is now perfectly healthy and we are loving every minute with him. He has such a sweet demeanor and is pretty chill, which helps because his big brother is not so quiet. :)

Corey William Hess

Our sweet little boy made his entrance this morning at 7:42 am via C-section. He is a sturdy boy weighing in at 9 lb 9 oz and 22 inches long. He has blonde hair and blonde eyelashes. He has been having some trouble breathing on his own, so he is in the NICU and probably will be there for at least another day. But, we were finally able to hold him tonight and he is the sweetest, most calm baby. We are so grateful that he is here and he will be ok. Tate won't get to see him until he is out of the NICU, but he is happy that "his baby" is here. We will continue to post photos and videos. Thanks for all the prayers!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day! Tate has the best daddy and had a lot of fun celebrating him. He picked out some gifts for Nathan and helped me wrap them. He made Nathan open them the second Nathan was awake. He also helped me make a chocolate cake for his daddy. It was really cute because he dumped in all the ingredients and mixed it up. He was so proud of himself (can't you tell in the picture?). I wish that I could have done more for Nathan that day and that he could have just relaxed all day, but I wasn't feeling super great. And, in a perfect world Tate would have behaved like an angel all day... This picture is them showing off the matching ties they got (and one for Corey too). Can't wait to see them all dressed up with them on!

And, as a baby update, we are still set to go with the c-section next Thursday (July 1). Everything is looking good and we are just excited to meet our new little boy!!

A Fun Weekend

We had a great weekend. The weather was nice, so we got to take Tate and do a lot of fun things. My mom and I took him to the PG carnival and Tate was fearless and wanted to ride all of the huge "rollercoasters." He actually could only ride a few, but he loved the Carousel and the Car Ride. He looked like such a big boy riding around with the other kids!
We spent Saturday running errands and then we went to Tate's favorite place on earth. No, it isn't Disneyland, it is Pinnacle (where Nathan works). They have a huge basketball court, gyms, football field, sauna, foosball, ping pong and a theater. Yeah, it is super awesome. Tate things that it what Nathan does at work. :) Then, we turned on the sprinklers for Tate (and Nathan) to run through. Tate made Nath run with him, but they had the best time. It was pretty dang cute!

We are trying to do as many fun things as we can with our Taters before the baby comes! He is such a sweet boy and I love spending time with him (even if he is insane sometimes!).

The Birthday

I had a really nice birthday this year. I didn't have too much energy and I wasn't looking my best (HATE these pictures!!), but Nathan worked really hard to make it a special day for me. I spent most of the day at Youth Confrence, but we had a lot of fun going to dinner and eating treats! I love my family very much!
