Visit from Grandpa and Grandma Jenny

My dad and his wife, Jenny, came for a visit last weekend to meet little Corey (and to play with Taters). We had a blast hanging out at home and going to Park City for the day. Tate got all sorts of presents (including a sweet bike!) from his Grandpa and was super excited. Corey got lots of attention and there was no shortage of people wanting to hold him and feed him. My sister, Katie, is the unofficial baby holder/get-him-to-sleep person. Our boys sure are loved little guys!! These are the photos from the visit(some from my dad and some from me).

Eight Weeks Old

Corey is eight weeks old today. Not too much has changed with him in the last week. He is still eating constantly and growing everyday. He is smiling a little more and loves to be on the floor and kick his little legs. That doesn't happen too often because we have to protect him from his crazy big brother. He had his two month shots today and they weren't too bad. I just felt badly that he woke up to someone poking his legs.

Handsome Boy

This post is for my sweet Taters. He is getting to be such a big boy and is such a great helper with his brother. He is starting to calm down a little (not be so manic all the time) and has a really sweet and funny personality. He is one of my favorite people in the world to hang out with! He loves to learn new things and he knows some pretty interesting facts (all from Sesame Street, not me) such as how many sides an octagon has, what metamorphosis and habitat mean, and his letters and numbers. He loves to pretend he is "Dr Tate" and use his stethoscope to check your heart, or that he is "Michael Jordan" when he plays basketball or "Cole" when he plays baseball (who is a player for the Orem Owlz). He loves to watch Sesame Street, Barney and the Three Stooges. He has the sweetest little singing voice and sings Book of Mormon Stories, Take Me Out the Ballgame, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and the Barney Song (I love you, you love me..). He still loves his "chicken and fren fries" and "chocolate treats." He has the most amazing memory and will bring up random memories or facts from months and months ago. He is the cuddliest little boy and loves to snuggle and give hugs and kisses. He will just randomly walk up to Corey and kiss his hand or head. I am not trying to brag about this kid, but I just want to say how much I love him (and I don't want to forget what he is doing at this age). Love you Taters! You are the funniest person I know!!
These next two photos are before and after shots from his haircut this week. This kid has some crazy hair (it sticks straight out when it is longer!).

The photo above is Tate playing with the "Ball in the Water" at the mall after eating Chick-fil-A-our favorite activity!!

Seven Weeks Old

Corey is now seven weeks old. He had his two month appointment (a little early) and he weighs (as of Wed) 12 lb 13.5 oz (74th percentile) and is 24 inches long (95th percentile). He grew out of his 0-3 month clothing about a week ago and is now wearing 3-6 month clothes because he is so long. He has been showing us his first smiles lately and it is so precious! He still loves to eat and would prefer to be doing that over most other things. :) He loves to be in the car, so we try to drive him around as much as possible (even before bedtime!). He is changing so much everyday and starting to play and interact more. I can't wait to get to see more of his little personality!

Six Weeks Old

Corey is six weeks old today. He is still growing and getting bigger everyday (probably due to the fact that he eats constantly). He has had a good week of sleeping the best he has ever slept, and also the worst. But, I will take what I can get! :) He is really alert and loves staring into your eyes. I can feel that he wants to smile, but can't quite make his little mouth move (unless he has gas). We have had Nathan's family in town and Corey has gotten lots of snuggles from grandma and grandpa, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lots of people love this little boy!

Hess Family Fun

Nathan's parents, his brother Ryan, and his sister Shelley and her husband Alan have been visiting over the past few weeks. We have had such a great time with them. We have played at Pinnacle, gone out to eat, watched home movies, gone to Kangaroo Zoo and had a little birthday party. It was great to introduce them to Corey and Tate loved seeing all the family!!

Shelley's Baby Shower

Nathan's sister, Shelley, has been in town and while she was here we threw her a surprise Baby Shower. She is pregnant with her first baby (a girl!) due in October and we are so excited! The shower was a lot of fun!

No Pictures, Please!

This is one of my new favorite pictures of Corey. I love that he is putting his little hand up like, "Mom! Enough with the pictures!" :) Sorry, baby! I hope you get used to it!

Tate's First Baseball Game

Last Thursday, my mom and I took Tate to an Orem Owlz game. She works there as an usher and we scored some free tickets on her night off. It was SO MUCH FUN! Tate was so excited. He was literally running around the house before we left screaming, "I'm so excited! I'm so excited!" He got to wear his Owlz shirt and baseball hat and go to the game. And, it was mini-bat night, so he was thrilled about that. He loved the mascot, Hootz, and he loved interacting with the other kids at the game. He walked up to several kids and told them he loved baseball or that he was running the bases. It was one of the cutest things I have ever seen because he was just so happy to be there. It was a great night!! (Oh, and thanks to Katie for watching Corey boy. It was fun to spend time with just Tate and Corey slept the best he ever had that night!!!)

Thanks, Mom!

My mom has been such a huge help this summer! She has come over most days to help with Corey and Tate so that I can get things done, or so that we can go and do something fun. She has been our nanny and driver and we really appreciate all she has done!!! We wish she never had to go back to school!

Five Weeks Old

Our little Corey boy is 5 weeks old today. He has changed so much in the past week and is looking less and less like a newborn. In fact, most people think he is three months old because he is so big. Guess how much he weighs? As of Monday, he weighs 11 lb 9 oz! He has packed on two pounds and grown an inch and a half since he was born. He isn't a fat baby, but he sure does love to eat! He has been doing well lately. We had to take him to a cardiologist with Primary Children's on Monday for a heart murmur, which the doctor was worried was harmful. It turns out everything is fine and the murmur is normal and not causing any problems. So, we are VERY thankful for that. He likes to be held and rocked and is such a sweet little boy!
In Tater news, he is doing great as well. He is a busy boy and spends his days playing doctor or fireman or Michael Jordan. Sometimes he won't answer to Tate and I never know if I should be calling him Dr. Tate or Michael Jordan. What can I say, he dreams big. He is loving being a big brother and helper. He loves his little brother and is constantly trying to kiss him or touch him. In this photo, he wanted me to take a picture of the marker all over his hands. As Tate would say, "What me do?" That is always trouble.... :)
