Three Months Old

I can't believe it- Tate is three months old. On Saturday, he had his three month birthday. He is more fun everyday and we love every minute with him. He is much more interactive than he has ever been. He loves being around his mom and dad and is very upset if he isn't getting attention. When he isn't eating or sleeping, he is usually smiling. He laughs and coos and makes the funniest little sounds. When he smiles at me, he usually has his mouth open really wide. I was wondering why he did that until Nathan pointed out that I smile at him with a wide open smile. I thought that was pretty funny! :) This picture was taken on Saturday when we were having a fun day of hanging out at home. I love life with my boys. I think I am the luckiest girl in the world. Aren't they so cute??

A Tate and Wii Christmas!

That is what our Christmas this year was about: Tate and our new Wii. They both provided the entertainment for the day. We got each other a Wii for Christmas and paid extra shipping to get it here by Christmas. It was supposed to come on Christmas Eve by 5:00 pm. We waited by the front door almost all day on Christmas Eve waiting for it to show up. Finally, at 4:50 pm in the middle of a snowstorm, a Budget rental truck pulls up and brings us our Wii to save Christmas. )(The DHL guy's truck had "blown up" and he had to drive a Budget truck). It was pretty crazy, but we have had a lot of fun playing with it. Tate was so cute and fun even though he didn't have a clue what was going on. We showed him his presents, but he didn't have any idea what was going on. My mom, sister and her husband came over in the afternoon for a day of eating, presents and more Wii playing. It was a great day and hope everyone else had a very Merry Christmas!

Baby Model

Tate and I had a little Christmas photo session on December 14. He is quite the little model. He is going to make his mommy and daddy lots of money. Here are some of my favorites.

It's Official....

Tate is the best baby! He has proven that Monday night was no fluke. He has now slept through the night every night this week. He goes to sleep around 9:30 or 10:00 and sleeps until 6:00 am. He then goes back to sleep and sleeps until 8:30. I am now getting consecutive hours of sleep!!! I don't know if it will last, but I am just thrilled that he has done it for five nights in a row.

This photo is Tate playing on his new blanket from his Grandma Hess. He loves laying on a blanket on the floor. Thanks so much to Nathan's mom for this adorable blanket!!

A Whole New World...

Tate has just recently become aware of toys. We have tried many times before to show him things like mobiles and hanging toys but he hasn't been interested. Just in the past day, I have noticed that he looks at and is now staring at his mobile on his swing and the hanging spiders on his bouncy chair. It is really neat to watch him look at these toys. He studies them so intently like they just entered the world. I am so happy that he has reached this milestone for two reasons: one, it is amazing to see a child see something for the first time and two, because it is one more thing that distracts him so I can get stuff done! :)

Such a Big Boy!

Tate seems to be growing up so fast! He is now 10 1/2 weeks, or two months old. It feels like he has grown so much in just a week or two. He seems longer and his clothes are finally fitting him. He is getting some hair on the rest of his head (not just the few long hairs on the top of his head). His hair is blonde, by the way, even though it looks dark in some pictures. I think he is going to be a blondey, even if it is just for a little while. He is also sleeping much better. He actually slept through the night (8 hours) on Sunday night!!!! I was so confused why I hadn't heard from him, but I was not too concerned cause I was so tired. We went to Brandon and Calli's house on Sunday for a little Christmas party and Tate fell asleep in the car a little before 10 and slept until 6:00 am!! I love this baby! It is so fun to see him explore his world and how things like his hands and his touching his head can entertain him for an hour. He loves to play and coos and smiles all the time. I am loving being a mom and spending time with my little Tate!! Christmas is just one week from today and we are really excited! Tate told me he can't wait to see what he got for Christmas! (Did anyone else wrap up presents for an infant? I think we will feel a little silly opening the presents we wrapped for him on Christmas! But, I wanted my baby to have some gifts under the tree!!)

Tate and I are Glad to have Nathan Home!

Nathan got home last night. He missed his flight in Tulsa to come home, so he was later than expected. Tate was confused while Nathan was gone and he could tell that things weren't right. He was so glad to see his daddy and we are having a fun day of hanging around the house (before we have to do our Christmas errands!!!).

Nathan is Out of Town :(

Nathan is in Tulsa, Oklahoma for a business trip tonight. This is his first trip since Tate was born. Tate and I are at home hanging out but we are missing our favorite person! I am so worried about him with this crazy weather between the snow here and the ice storms in Oklahoma. Nathan is coming back tomorrow and we can't wait to see him! I am such a wimp when it comes to Nathan being gone. I don't know how anyone else handles it when their husband is gone!

I took this picture of Tate yesterday when we went on a quick run to the Post Office. This was Tate's first errand run other than his doctors appointments. He loves being in the car and he was looking so cute in his little hat!!

Tate's So Glad When Daddy Comes Home..

Tate is already a daddy's boy. He loves everything about his daddy. He loves his voice and he loves staring at him. Tate smiles like I have never seen when his daddy is around. We have to put Tate in his chair or on the ground where he can see his daddy at all times or he gets fussy. These pictures were from Tate playing with Nathan tonight (notice how Tate is looking at his dad and not me and the camera). They melt my heart....
Also, Tate's eyelashes are so long! They seem to be growing everyday and I don't know if he will be able to open his eyes if they grow any longer! They are so dark and adorable!!

Poor Little Baby

Tate had his two month check up yesterday. Everything went really well and the doctor says he looks really healthy. His weight and height are perfect and his head is a little on the big side. I think it is because he has so many brains in there. Tate is also doing well developmentally and seems to be right on track. During the appointment, Tate just stared at the doctor as if he was listening to everything he said. It was pretty cute. As part of his appointment, our little boy had to get his shots. He got three shots in his little legs. He was such a good boy and didn't even cry for the first shot. It was as if he didn't notice the nurse had jabbed him in the leg. For the other two, he cried and then stopped immediately. He was quiet and smiling by the time we got to the car and asleep by the time we got home. He seemed to be in pain for a few hours last night (poor Nathan stayed up with him for a few hours while he cried-what a good dad and husband!!!). But, he slept through the second half of the night and seems to be feeling better today. He is on the floor playing- smiling, cooing and kicking his legs.

Christmas Time is Here!!!

Tate and I had fun getting ready for Christmas this past weekend. I put up the Christmas tree and decorated the house! I just love this time of year and it makes me so happy to unpack all of the decorations I have been collected since Nathan and I have been married. Tate sat in his little chair and smiled and cooed while I decorated the tree. He loved watching the lights twinkle! I dressed him up in some of his Christmas outfits and had some fun taking pictures of him. Can you tell I have been waiting a long time to have a little baby at Christmas time??

Also, Tate turned two months old on Saturday. We can't believe how big he is and how much he is changing everyday. He gets cuter everyday and we are getting to see a little more of his personality. He definitely has his preferences and he gets very upset if we dont' do things his way. He loves to be held and can be SOUND asleep until we move to put him down. Then, all of the sudden he pops up and starts to fuss. Also, he is a hungry little boy and the only time he really cries is when he wants food. He will be screaming until he sees us get up to go make a bottle for him. He knows that when we run the water and are standing by the sink that he will get food soon. He stops crying and sometimes I think, maybe he wasn't hungry, and I will hold off on feeding him. He does NOT appreciate that and screams. He is so funny and particular. We can't complain because he is an adorable, sweet, smiling baby who is healthy and happy (and he is starting to sleep for longer periods at night!!!!). We are very blessed.
