Our Little Boy

Tate is doing well. He has a bit of a stomach bug, but he went to the doctor yesterday and is starting to feel better. He is such a sweet baby and I love spending time with him. He is actually sleeping great for a newborn. He usually sleeps about 3 hours at a time. So, not too bad for a little guy. Nathan is so helpful and lets me get some good sleep, so I cannot complain!!! We are excited for Halloween and I will post pictures of Tate in his ridiculous costume!! :)

Tate loves to sleep with his hands in the hair. Do all babies do that? Either way, I think it is adorable!!

Tate now weighs 10 lbs 1 oz, which I think is a pretty good size. BUT, most of this clothes and diapers are too big for him. He has tiny little legs. I just want to eat him up sometimes!!

3 Weeks Old and Chillin...

Tate is three weeks old (as of Saturday). He is such a funny little boy and everyday he is doing more and we are getting to see more of his little personality. Last week, we got him a vibrating boucer chair and he just loves it. He is now sleeping in it at night (which means he usually sleeps for a little longer...sometimes). No matter how we put him in the chair, he always ends up sideways with his little legs hanging over the side. It is pretty cute. We are having fun figuring out what to do with him. My dad and Jenny left yesterday and we had a really good week with them. Tate liked spending time with his grandpa and his grandpa got quite attached to him as well.

11 Days Old...

Sorry that we haven't posted anything in awhile. It has been a crazy couple of days. I have been battling a virus and tiny Tate got a little eye infection. But, I think we are done with daily trips to the pharmacy and ready to start feeling better. Everyone has been so helpful and we really appreciate everything!! Here are some pictures from the last few days. I will try to get some more up when we are feeling better.

So Cute!!

Here are some pictures from the past two days of our little Tate. Yesterday was a little crazy because I had to go to the doctor and be away from Tate. Not to mention it was the first day Nathan was back at work.....not so good for Megan's emotions. :) I just love my two boys!!

Pictures of Our Little One

We are so happy to say that we are home with our little boy! We left the hospital yesterday (Monday) afternoon. Tate was doing very well and I was recovering well, so we didn't see any reason to stick around! We were very anxious to get our little boy home and just spend time getting to know him. Also, we were not so much a fan of the hourly night-time check ins from nurses. It isn't too fun to have the light flipped on every hour so they can stick me with needles and wake Tate up by sticking him with various things.
Tate is a great sleeper (he is tuckered out from his hard little journey here!), so our first night home wasn't too bad. Well, I should say that it wasn't bad for me because I slept through almost the whole night. Nathan is the sweetest husband and father in the world and helped me through my pains and took care of everything. I just can't believe how sweet he is. I guess that is why we have the sweetest little one! He is a mini Nathan!!!

So, here are some pictures of our little guy. We really appreaciate everyone's generosity and kind words. It is so nice to know that we have so much support. We love you all so much!!

Baby Tate is Here!

Tate Dallas Hess came at 6:18 pm on Saturday, October 6 weighing in at 8 lb 8 oz and 20 inches. It was a long day of about 19 hours of labor followed by an emergency Cesarean section. It all happened so fast (once they decided on the c-section) and it was kind of scary. Tate's heartbeat was irregular and we ended up finding out that the cord was wrapped around his neck. I think the whole thing was more traumatic for Nathan than me. He was very stressed and concerned about me. BUT, Tate is here and completely wonderful! He is so cute and alert. When he was born, he turned towards Nathan's voice and then grabbed his finger. He couldn't be any sweeter. Today (the day after) has been filled with a few visitors and alot of napping (by all three of us). I will write more and post a lot more pictures tomorrow. We are so blessed!!

Oct 1 Has Come and Gone...

We just wanted to let the world know that we are still hanging around with no little boy yet. We got really excited last night thinking that it could be time, but I went to sleep and woke up feeling just fine. :( We go to the doctor tomorrow and I am going to try and talk him into getting something going pretty soon! He has said that he will not induce until around Oct 11 (next Thursday!!) and that seems like an eternity away at this point. But, Tate is still active in there and we are grateful that everything has been healthy and smooth up to this point! We are hoping to have exciting news to report sometime soon!! We can't wait to hold our little boy!!!!
