We had a great Fourth yesterday. We had fun hanging around the house during the day and then we watched fireworks at my mom's house. Corey just stared at the fireworks and Tate went crazy. He was yelling, "Balls! Balls! Balls for everyone! Balls for each of us!" I guess he thought the fireworks looked like exploding balls? :)
Corey had a great first birthday. We spent the day with my mom at the park in Spanish Fork that has a little splash pad for kids. They loved it!Then, we came home and had a little party with just our little family. Katie had helped me make some decorations for the cake and they turned out pretty cute.
Corey loved his cake! He dug into it and ate it for quite awhile. When he was done, he had cake in his hair, up his nose and in his ears. He didn't love that too much!Tate had fun helping his brother eat the cake too! :)
Then, we opened presents. We didn't get Corey that much (I learned from Tate that a one year old doesn't need a lot). We got him a little wooden piano, which he loved. My grandmas sent him some money for his birthday, so we bought some toys for the beach and books. He loved it all. Corey also got a playhouse from his Grandma that he (and Tate) love! It was a great birthday!
Tate gave his first talk in church in Primary on Father's Day. He did such a great job and talked right into the microphone and had part of it memorized. He spoke a little quietly, but he still did a great job. I videoed him practicing before church.
My mom helped me take these pictures of Corey. It was quite the adventure, but I think we got some cute ones that capture his personality. These are my favorites (and there are a lot).
And just a note about Corey at 12 months: He is such a busy boy. He has to be walking (or running) and exploring all the time. He is constantly moving and getting into things. He loves to say Mama and Dada and just started saying No No. He says that when he walks up to something he know he shouldn't be touching (like a soda can or the toilet- but he still gets into them anyways). He loves balls and will throw anything he can get his hands on. His favorite game is to toss you a ball and yell while he does it. He is at such a busy, but fun age. He makes me laugh constantly with his little personality. He is a lot different than Taters (he seems to be much more like me). He is a mamas boy and I love every minute with my crazy brute of a baby!
Nathan wins a lot of stuff at work and comes home with Pinnacle gear a lot. Tate usually has to put it on immediately and wear it around. He wanted me to take his picture when he was being "Pinnacle Guy." I just think he looks like a little stud. :)
We had a great, relaxing Father's Day this year. We mostly hung around the house and helped Nathan relax (which he has a hard time doing lately). We had a nice steak dinner and just spent time together. We love Nathan so much and he is the best daddy! We didn't get any good photos of the day, but I just wanted to mention it because of how special Nathan is to us!
Nathan got me the best present for my birthday: tickets to the Richard Marx concert. I have always loved Richard Marx, but he is now my second favorite artist ever (behind MJ of course)! The concert was UNBELIEVABLE! It was at the Sandy Ampitheater, so it was outside and just a gorgeous night. Richard Marx sang with just his accoustic guitar, a piano and the Utah Symphony. It was awesome. He has the most amazing voice and he sounds even better in person. It was Nathan's first concert and he really enjoyed it too. It was just one of those nights and I will never forget it. Oh, and to make it even better, we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner before!! Calamari and Reeses Peanut Butter Cup Cheesecake Cake- pretty perfect!!
