Tate's Blessing

We had Tate's blessing on Sunday. We had a lot of family here and it was a great day. Tate was so good and didn't make a peep during the whole blessing. Nathan did a great job on the blessing and it was so special. Tate had a lot of fun spending time with his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. It was a great day! Here are some of the pictures from the day.

Little Burrowing Baby

Tate does the funniest thing. He loves laying on Nathan but he always ends up burrowing down between Nathan's arm and his body. If we try to move him he makes all sorts of sounds and gets mad. We were worried that he couldn't breathe, but he breathes just fine. So, we leave him like that and he sleeps forever. What a funny baby.

The Many Faces of Tate

Tate is so much more alert and interactive these days. He loves to play on the floor and make different faces and kick his little legs. He started smiling last weekend. He usually only smiles when Nathan is around (he loves his daddy!). Here are some pictures of his cute little face.

This Weekend

This has been a great weekend. Actually, every weekend is great because Nathan, Tate and I get to spend time together. We love staying in and watching movies and playing with Baby Tate. I got a special treat this weekend because I was able to get out for a few minutes to get my hair done (the first time in over a year!!) and do a little shopping. It felt great, but I missed my boys too much and had to rush home. These are a few shots from this weekend. I hope everyone else had a great weekend!

On Friday, I decided to try this hat on Tate. It is really for older babies, but his head is so big that I thought it might fit....and it did! Tate wasn't a fan of it and kept trying to pull it off. I only tortured him long enough to take a picture of it. :)
Bath time for a little boy!!

Sunday is football day. Tate loves to watch the Cowboys!!

Baby Baller!

So, this is what we do these days....I dress Tate up and take his picture. Poor baby. I am thinking that this won't last too long and I better enjoy it while I can. He doesn't argue with anything that I put him in!
These are his Jordans. I bought them when we found out we were having a boy. I now realize (after being a parent for a month) that shoes for a newborn are not only unnecessary, but a little ridiculous. But, they are so cute and I couldn't resist putting him in them for a little bit. And, he kind of smiled in one of the pictures!! He is getting closer to smiling on cue everyday. Today Nathan was playing with him in front of a mirror and he told Tate to smile and he kind of did. (It was more of a yawn with a little smile at the end, but we loved it!!)

I'm a Good Boy!

Tate had some rough times the past few days. He went to the doctor, we figured out the problem and he has been like the perfect, sweet baby he always has been. Today he has been so sweet and chill. Yesterday, he screamed for hours on end and wouldn't let me put him down for a second. I took this picture of him laying on the floor this morning because he was just so relaxed and sweet. He was asleep a minute later. He has already let me shower and clean the house! I love this baby!!

Four years ago today...

Nathan and I met each other four years ago today! I can't believe how much my life has changed in four years. I couldn't be happier and I am so grateful that my roommate made me go with her that night to Nathan's friends' apartment!! I love you Nathan!

One Month Old!!

Today Tate is one month old! Everyone keeps asking me if it has flown by, but I feel like this has been the longest and happiest months of my life. Alot has happened in this month and I can say that our lives have definitely changed over the past four weeks!! Everyday, we are learning more about him as a little person and getting into more of a routine. Tate does some crazy things that crack me up. For example, he likes to put his fingers on his eyeballs when he is eating from his bottle. We have to pry his hands out of his eyes, so he doesn't get another infection. Also, he loves to pucker his little lips (which has been referred to as his "Blue Steel" look). Maybe he is practicing to become a model! He loves to lay on the ground where he can see the TV. We can't get him to look away when the TV is on. He must take after his parents, who love TV!! He just lays on the floor and kicks his little legs and watches TV. He also loves to eat and is getting a little belly. But, his legs and arms are still tiny. One day, he will fit into his clothes!

The other day, Tate and I were just chilling and we heard several knocks on the door and the doorbell ringing. We went to the door and three little kids from our neighborhood were at the door. They wanted to go into our backyard to play with a cat that had gone back there. They were all amazed at the baby and were asking all sorts of questions. One little boy (who is probably 4 years old) said to me, "If he can crawl, then he can come play at my house." He then told me where he lived and what his phone number is. I thought that was pretty funny! :)

Happy Halloween!

Yesterday was Halloween and Tate and I had fun dressing him up. We didn't go anywhere, so we spent our evening taking pictures. I wasn't sure how Tate would react to the Tootsie Roll costume, but he loved it. He was so funny and cute in it, that I couldn't stop laughing. We only had about 5 trick or treaters, so we are left with a GIANT bowl of candy!!

Before I put him in his costume, we had a little photo session cause he was looking too cute....
And now.... the Tootsie Roll!!!!!
